British Art Medal Society Success

The judging panel of the 24th Student Medal Competition of the British Art Medal Society met recently at the British museum to view entries from 12 UK colleges, plus two foreign academies. There was a total of 116 UK medals and ten prizes were awarded.

We are delighted that the Grand First Prize, from the Worshipful Company of Founders, of £750 was awarded to CSAD BA (Hons) Artist Designer Maker student Judith Pritchard for her bronze medal ‘Songbird in Her Cage’.

The BAMS Competition is one of the opportunities open to Level Five Artist Designer: Makers as one of the Live Briefs within their Subject module.

This is the second year an Artist Designer: Maker student from CSAD has won a prize. Last year Evan Moore, a current third year students, won the prize for a ‘Cutting Edge’ medal, from the Worshipful Company of Cutlers.

Congratulations to Judith!
