Graphic Communication student writes about her journey to freelancing

Third year BA Graphic Communication student Jasmine Hutter has written about developing her freelance practice during her studies at CSAD.

In her second year as an undergraduate student Jasmine attended a marketing event called ‘Concept’ run by the Cardiff Met Centre for Entrepreneurship. Jasmine explains: “Concept 2016 was a fantastic opportunity to work with real businesses within a supportive learning environment”.  Since then Jasmine has continued to attend events held by the Centre for Entrepreneurship including the monthly ‘mingle’ events, a chance to listen to a range of business speakers and entrepreneurs offering advice and tips: “Being able to network with the guests at these events has also opened up opportunities for work once I graduate in July”.

“The skills and knowledge that I acquired from Concept and other entrepreneurship events have helped me enormously in the time since Concept. My confidence has grown no end which has allowed me to access work and opportunities that I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to. I have gained regular clients and been able to reach out to various people for freelance work.”
