Ceramics and a play on extraordinary processes

For their contribution to the Craft Council’s UK wide clay experiences initiative entitled ‘Hey Clay‘,  CSAD ceramics students undertook a novel approach in collaboration with the National Museum of Wales. Entitled ‘A Play on Extraordinary Processes’ students spent a morning exploring ways in which the discipline of ceramics can move the viewer forward and backward in time.

Identifying an object from the St Fagans Museum collection that echoed a process used in their studio work, students devised a demonstration that enabled them to talk to both historic and contemporary context and of course encourage the public to have a go themselves.
