Last years Second Year Field students, from the Athletes of the Heart project, have been awarded an honourable mention for their collaborative experimental animated film “Socialite” at the Experimental Forum Film Festival in Los Angeles, California.
The festival judged the experimental abstract animation and visualisation of music worthy of an award and added this comment:
“We would like to take this moment to recognize your film by giving you the Honorable Mention Award title, for your vision and the film’s unique contribution to cinema.”
Cardiff School of Art & Design students collaborated with Dan Soley, a third year student of Composition at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, to create an abstract visual response to complex musical themes of social connectivity and confusion in today’s modern media-saturated environment.
