CSAD Fine Art lecturer Dr James Green collaborated with Chelsea School of Art student Patrick Quinnell to create a piece of work called ‘The Mexican Thunder God of Welsh Rain’.
The Mexican Thunder God of Welsh Rain is a digital mask based on the Aztec rain and thunder god Tlaloc, and the Welsh Dragon. The aim of the mask is to redistribute rain so that the dry parts of Mexico get more rain, and Wales gets less rain. The work was created by the pair who communicated ideas purely through text message and email.
The artwork was shown at the Menier Gallery on Southwark Street in London on Tuesday 14th March. It was a great night with a huge crowd, the finest Mexican food, and cultural delegates from the Embassy of Mexico.
